Crime Prevention
The Crime Prevention Unit of the Frankfort Police Department is responsible for organizing and developing
neighborhood crime watches, providing confidential business and residential security surveys, hosting tours,
involving civic groups, professional, educational, and youth organizations.  The Crime Prevention Unit also provides a
myriad of programs aimed at reducing criminal opportunity involving the citizens of our community.  These include,
but are not limited to, children and adult safety programs, robbery prevention, as well as gang and drug
prevention/awareness programs.
"The Frankfort Police Department targets the prevention of crime.  It is better to attempt to prevent crime than to put
department resources to work after the crime has been committed.  Clearly, such a stance should help improve the
quality of life for the citizens of Frankfort, and a reduction in fear generated by both the reality and the perception of
crime."
